My Husband....THE MAN!!!

Well, first of all I would like to start off by saying thanks to my brother-in-law Jacob for being the Lance Armstrong of the family and getting Terry into this whole biking thing...you rock!

So, Terry rode the STP!!!!! That is pretty awesome! It is a 204.5 mile bike ride from Seattle to Portland. Did I say 204.5 MILES ON A BIKE!!!! He rode with Jacob(bro-in-law)and Billy(friend in ward). They left at midnight Friday night or Saturday morning however you may say that. They drove to Seattle, a 3 hour drive to start the race at 4:30 am Sat. I planned on leaving my house about 3:00pm to meet them in Portland by 7:00pm. But by 10am they had already reached half way! I freaked out and hurried and got the kids in the car to drive to Portland. They totally did GREAT on time. I got there in one piece since I was going 80mph and the limit is 65! I forgot that in Oregon that is the speed limit. We made it just in time. I totally had goose bumps as they rode through and I got teary eyed as I saw my husband crossing the finish line. It was really fun and sooo AWESOME! He was sooo tired! He crossed the line at exactly 5pm. It took them 13 hours to get there. They figured that actual ride time was about 12 hours not including the stops they had to make. After he rested for a minute he showered right there in the mobile showers. I thought that was pretty nice for the riders. They had all kinds of vendors with free samples of food, drinks and fruit. They also had massages for the riders too! It was pretty big fun. 10,ooo people sign up and only 1,000 ride it in one day. The rest ride it in two. I added some random pics at the end of the slide show just to show off the kids. Anywayz, I just want to say that I am so proud of you Terry you amaze me everyday! What an accomplishment! You are so awesome and I love you soooo much!

I am completely impressed! I would have never considered doing something like that. An hour spin class kicks my butt, I would die doing what Terry did. Congratulations!

That is so cool! Tell Terry he rocks! Or should I say tell James? Those are the kind of things you have to do at least once in a lifetime. But is he already planning another trip or was that plenty?
love, Em
