Stockton Gray Parrish

Wow!!! Can I get anymore behind??!!!! I am so overwhelmed with joy right now and maybe a little reality of having a baby around!!! Life is different but good! We are adjusting to this new little man. So, for all those who have been bugging me I am so sorry for taking this long but here's Stockton's story.

Friday at 6am Terry and I drove to KGH hospital to deliver our second son and third child via c-section! I was so nervous words cannot express. Seriously, I was so nervous that maybe I really was taking a HUGE risk with having a this baby and maybe this would be it for me! I know it sounds crazy but doctor did say that this was a major risk! Terry had given me a blessing the day before because I couldn't shake the fact that there very well could be a chance I wouldn't be coming home after this baby! I mean, I really was a mess. So we get to the hospital and they get me all ready to go in. The time kept ticking and my palms kept getting more and more clammy. UGH!  I received some sweet phone calls before which made me feel a LITTLE better. So, 7:20am they walked me to the OR. The spinal block was given and it worked this time...WAHOO! I laid there as they all kept telling me to relax. Then Dr. Morrison came in and I'll NEVER forget the look on his face....it was so sweet, humble and pure. Kinda like he was saying in his mind.." Don't worry sweetie I won't let anything happen to you and I'll take good care of you". SO, I just turned said ANOTHER prayer and waited for them to send Terry in. Once he was in they started and it was a while before the baby came out. Doc removed my old scar then started to do baby. It was so beautiful when they took him out! They then took him because his breathing was a little scary but I still couldn't tell what his name was yet. So, Terry went with baby and I laid there listening to them work on me. AND boy did he work on me! 32 staples worth! Surgery went great and I didn't lose as much blood as he thought I would. I was overjoyed!!! I seriously couldn't believe I made it through. Stockton though had a hard time breathing because of fluid on his lungs which is a little common with c-section babies. Plus, he was a little more then 2 weeks early. So, he was transfered to another hospital where they had a better NICU. That was so hard to watch!!! Let me tell you.....NO FUN!! My new little baby was going into an ambulance! Let me just say.....FAITH! I have learned from this situation that if we just leave in his hands and have faith and believe .... it works out! I mean, I was scared to death to deliver this baby but I KNEW there was another baby for our family and having Stockton go to another hospital I KNEW it was for his benefit. As sad as it was I felt peace too. To make a LONG story go LONGER I was released Saturday evening (36 hours after major surgery) so that I could go be with my baby! Stockton was finally released on Tuesday.
Life has been different ever since. Having a new little baby is so amazing words cannot express! I am in love with him and can't imagine my life without him. Nursing is going okay. You know me, not loaded with milk lady so I give him bottles when needed. The kids are wonderful with him and they help as much as I let them. My mom and sister were here for the whole thing too and it was so fun to have them here. We miss them! Now, I am just adjusting to having a little one in the house. Not sure if I can say 3 is hard because I think just having a baby is an adjustment. I love my kids...all 3 of them! I feel so blessed right now. I am LIVING and I have 3 beautiful healthy children. I did have my tubes tied because my body is so done having kids. I know that it was the best decision for me and my family but let me tell you...its hard! It's tough to know that after this NO MORE! So bittersweet!

he is so perfect!!! we'll have to catch up sometime and see how the adjustment to 3 is really going... i had a very rough first month of nursing (cracked, bleeding, infections) but I think we are finally in the clear and getting to normal. If there is such a thing as normal with a newborn... :)

Congrats Tiff!! He is so cute, I think he looks like Terry, and Ty. I love that he has so much hair. I've been waiting to hear how everything went, I'm so glad everyone's ok.

-yes, it's Tiff that worked with us. There were 4 of us, remember. She's not the daughter though.

Your story just brings to reality how having a baby is truly a miracle. Many people worry for their unborn child...if labor goes well, if all their fingers and toes are present, etc...but I don't think many of us think about the mom having complications. I am glad you are ok and that everything is good for your family. The baby is adorable. Congrats to you all!
