9-30-14 The worst pain ever
In 2001 I had surgery to remove 2 in a half feet of intestines. It was a hard surgery and I was in the hospital for 7 or 8 days.
I woke up Monday Sept 29th at 4am with horrible horrible pain. I didn't know what was wrong. My stomach was killing me. Yet all my functions were working. I was throwing up though. 4 hours later I just couldn't take it anymore. Terry took me to the ER and I could barely walk in or stand it anymore. I was admitted after some X-rays were done. They said I had a bowel abstruction. It was so painful I can't even describe the pain. They put a tube down my nose that went down to my stomach to help with the abstruction. The pain never really went away. In fact it got worse to where I couldn't lay still. I was is agony. By Wednesday they decided to do surgery. I had been in the worst possible pain for 48 hours! I was ready for anything! I can tolerate pain well. In fact there's not even pain medication in my home! I've never taken any after my csections and I never took any after my last surgery either! But within these 48 hours I was desperate and the nurses gave me everything they could to stop the pain and NOTHING helped! It was a nightmare!
So Wednesday they wheeled me into surgery. I was worried actually because no one knew what was going on? No one really knew for sure what was causing all this pain. But I was so glad sometjing was going to be done!
So in they went and they found that I had scar tissue wrapped around my intestines and my appendix had moved from my lower right of the body up to my upper left plus my whole insides wasn't in the best shape because of all the trauma I had been through those 2 days! When I woke up I cried! I cried in pure relief! No pain at all! They of course had me hooked up to a pain pump and I only pushed it once! I didn't need it! I felt so amazing even though they cut a 5 inch scar on my abdomen! They couldn't believe I wasn't in pain! Are you kidding me?!!! This is Disneyland compared to what I had just been through!
I stayed in the hospital until that Saturday which made my stay a total of 6 days! I didn't get to eat at all until the last day which was just broth! I lost some weight because of how I needed to eat after but I'm back to eating my normal things and feeling great! My family was so blessed with all the meals that were brought in! People were so kind! My mom came also to help out! It was really nice! I'm so glad it's all over! Xoxoxo
